September 10th, 2025, will always be a special date for us at BionIT Labs. On that day, we officially opened our U.S. headquarters in Chattanooga, Tennessee — a milestone that marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our journey to make Adam’s Hand accessible to more people across North America.
This new headquarters represents a bridge between our roots and the communities we are now closer to in the U.S. and Canada. From Chattanooga, we will coordinate distribution, training, technical support, and grow new collaborations with prosthetists, clinicians, and research centers across the continent.
A Day to Remember: Ribbon-Cutting, Italian Flavors, and Inspiring Encounters
The inauguration, held with the support of the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, was filled with energy, gratitude, and a sense of shared purpose. Beyond the official ribbon-cutting, what made the event truly special were the moments of connection with our guests and the chance to share with them our good vibes. So, we welcomed everyone with a light but flavorful reception — and of cours
Then came a powerful moment — or maybe better to say, a powerful woman: Lori, a bilateral upper-limb amputee from the U.S. and Adam’s Hand user. Lori’s story is one of extraordinary resilience. After surviving sepsis and the loss of all four limbs, she has been rebuilding her life with determination. She describes Adam’s Hand as the most intuitive and functional device she has ever tested — a prosthesis that supports her in every activity of her new life, one she never parts with and is proud to show the world. Truly, a game-changing technology for bilateral users. Lori’s journey will soon be featured in BionIT Stories, the section of Adam’s Hand website where our users share how our technology is revolutionizing their lives.
A Leading Team in the US
The celebration was also the perfect occasion to introduce our U.S. team to the guests present: a group of highly qualified and widely respected professionals in the prosthetics field who are now part of the BionIT Labs family.
We are proud to count on our NA, Director of Clinical & Technical Operations Dr. Gerald Stark, PhD, CPO/L, FAAOP(D), one of the most renowned experts in clinical prosthetics, who leads our clinical and support operations and recently launched the training program “Scienza Clinica from BionIT Labs” to empower prosthetists with advanced knowledge and tools.

Having such a strong team in Chattanooga means not only expanding access to Adam’s Hand, but also building trusted relationships with clinicians and users through knowledge, training, and hands-on support.
Chattanooga: The Launch Point for Prosthetic Innovation in North America
When we first explored where to establish our U.S. base, Chattanooga stood out immediately. The city brings together a strong healthcare and manufacturing ecosystem, a culture of innovation, and a truly welcoming community. From here, we can be closer to the people who matter most — prosthetists, clinicians, and above all, users.
As our CEO and Founder, Giovanni Zappatore, said:
“Chattanooga combines everything we were looking for — innovation, collaboration, and community. With this headquarters, we’re not only closer to U.S. prosthetists and patients, but we’re also making Chattanooga the launch point for advanced prosthetic technologies across North America.”
We’re thrilled to share the story of this milestone, featured by O&P Edge, a leading industry magazine that captured both the achievement and the emotions behind it. Read the full article here!
The Fully-Adaptive Grip Technology That Simplifies Users’ Lives
When Adam’s Hand entered the U.S. market in 2024, it brought something truly new to the field of upper-limb prosthetics: Fully-Adaptive Grip technology.
Instead of managing complex controls, users simply open or close the hand, while the fingers automatically adapt to the shape and size of the object. The result is a natural, intuitive, and reliable experience that makes everyday activities easier.
In 2025, we also launched Adam’s Hand Small, extending the same innovation to people with smaller hand sizes.
And we’re not stopping there: our portfolio is expanding with complementary solutions designed to support both clinicians and users at every stage of their prosthetic journey.
As Dr. Gerald Stark, our Director of Clinical Operations and Technical Support for North America, said during the event:
“Our role is to empower prosthetists with the tools, training, and technical support they need so their patients achieve the best possible outcomes.”
A Worldwide Mission: Turning Disabilities into New Possibilities
Since our founding in 2018 in Italy, we have been driven by a clear mission: “Turning disabilities into new possibilities.” Today, BionIT Labs operates in more than 15 countries, bringing advanced prosthetic technology to people around the world while staying true to our commitment to accessibility and inclusion.
Opening our Chattanooga headquarters is a step we’ve dreamed of for a long time. Now, it’s reality. And for us, it’s just the beginning.
From here, we will carry forward our commitment to making technology more accessible, supporting people living with limb differences, and developing solutions that can truly improve quality of life.
We can’t wait to see what’s next — and we’re grateful to have you with us on this journey.
