We believe that technological innovation is more than just a tool for progress, it is a powerful opportunity to make a tangible impact on people’s lives, helping those with limb differences regain autonomy and confidence. In this spirit, Adam’s Hand stands out as a truly unique prosthesis, “The First of its Kind” thanks to its revolutionary Fully-Adaptive Grip technology, which provides users with intuitive and immediate usability.
With the launch of Adam’s Hand Small, we are elevating this innovation to an even higher level, delivering a more compact, faster, and even more durable prosthesis. Engineered to better accommodate the needs of individuals with limb differences, this new version expands our target market to include women and teenagers while also supporting professionals in the prosthetic sectors across Europe and the United States.
Over the past year, we have further strengthened our global presence by opening a commercial office in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This dual-market approach allows us to gain deeper insights into industry needs and develop even more tailored solutions for our users.
With Adam’s Hand Small, we reaffirm our commitment to innovation, simplicity, and accessibility, delivering a technology that unlocks New Possibilities for its users. In this article, we reveal all the details!
The Global Unveiling: "Adam’s Hand: Smaller. Faster. Even More Durable."
On January 24th, we officially unveiled the Small version of our device during a webinar titled “Adam’s Hand: Smaller. Faster. Even More Durable”.
The event brought together key members of our team, with live contributions from our offices in Soleto, Italy, and the United States. Giovanni Zappatore (CEO & Founder), Gerry Stark (NA Director of Clinical Support & Technical Operations), and Cristina Longo (Marketing & Communication Manager) showcased the product’s latest innovations and shared our vision for advancing prosthetic technology.
Following this online preview, we presented Adam’s Hand Small live at Hanger LIVE, one of the industry’s most prestigious events, held in Nashville, Tennessee, from January 27th to 30th. Here, clinicians and industry professionals had the chance to explore our device’s groundbreaking innovations and experience its capabilities firsthand.
At the heart of this initiative’s success is our commitment to continuous engagement with users and clinicians, ensuring that our solutions evolve to meet real-world needs. Equally essential is the dedication of our highly skilled and motivated team, united by the mission to Turning Disabilities into New Possibilities. This vision drives every aspect of our work, from product design to market strategies, reinforcing our commitment to revolutionizing prosthetic technology.
Fully-Adaptive Grip Technology
Adam’s Hand was created to offer a solution that combines functional design and ease of use. At the core of this innovation is the patented Fully-Adaptive Grip technology, which allows the prosthesis to automatically adapt to the shape and size of the objects it grips. This ensures natural, fast, and intuitive control, eliminating the need for complex configurations.
What’s New in Adam’s Hand Small?
The Small version integrates this technology with enhancements that make the prosthesis more compact, faster, and more durable.
- Smaller – Size reduced from 7-¾’’ to 7-¼’’, with weight decreased by 15% (from 570g to 485g), making it lighter and more comfortable.
- Faster – 10% increase in speed compared to the Medium version.
- Even More Durable – Enhanced durability through key technical improvements:
- Optimized finger transmission: reduced mechanical backlash and increased spring lifespan for a stronger, more consistent grip.
- Steel bushings instead of bearings: improved phalanx robustness and reduced wear over time.
- Anodized finger components: increased resistance to wear and mechanical stress.
- New thumb rotation and locking mechanism: improved static support and double the resistance to lateral loads.
These improvements increase Hook Grip load capacity to 45 kg (100 lb) and double the thumb’s transversal static load support to 12 kg (26 lb), a critical factor for long-term durability. These advancements also extend to the Medium version over the coming months. The speed increase has been made available with the latest updates for MyoLogic Pro v1.11, MyoLogic v1.7, and Adam’s Hand firmware v1.07.00.
Additionally, the Adam’s Skin glove, which makes the hand completely waterproof and dust-resistant (IP67), has been improved with a more uniform thickness and extra reinforcements in high-wear areas such as fingers, palm, and back of the hand.
